AI in Practice — Issue 3

3 New Free AI Learning Studios: Learn, Question, Verify

There is no shortage of information about AI.

What I think we need more of is practice.

How do you turn a vague idea into a useful AI request? How do you decide whether an AI-generated answer is actually reliable? How do you recognize unsupported claims? And how do you develop enough AI literacy to use these tools responsibly at work and in everyday life?

I’ve been expanding the free learning resources on DiscoveryVIP around exactly these questions.

The latest additions are three interactive AI learning studios, each approaching practical AI skills from a different direction.

All of them are available from:

1. AI Output Review Studio

Don’t just accept the answer. Learn to review it.

One of the most important AI skills isn’t generating content.

It’s knowing what to do after AI generates it.

The AI Output Review Studio is built around a simple habit:

Question → Check → Record

It includes 12 focused lessons, three practice tools, and a reusable evidence review desk designed to help you move beyond “this looks right” toward a review process you can actually explain. DiscoveryVIP

You’ll practice separating supported claims from contradicted or unresolved ones, inspecting numbers and percentages, preserving important limitations, revising claims that go beyond the evidence, and recording sources, corrections, owners, and next steps. DiscoveryVIP

The Studio includes a Claim Detective, Number Inspector, and Revision Challenge, followed by an evidence review workspace where you can document your own review. DiscoveryVIP

This is a skill that becomes increasingly important as AI-generated material finds its way into reports, research, emails, presentations, code documentation, planning, and decision-making.

AI can generate an answer quickly.
You still need to decide whether that answer deserves to be trusted.

2. AI Literacy Studio

Understand AI. Use it responsibly.

The AI Literacy Studio goes broader.

It’s an interactive companion to my book AI Literacy for All Employees and turns its 15 chapters into a much larger hands-on learning experience.

The Studio contains 30 guided lessons, 11 practice labs, and four practical projects covering AI foundations, workplace applications, prompting, evidence review, bias, privacy, governance, and responsible AI planning. DiscoveryVIP

Instead of simply reading about these ideas, you’re asked to work through scenarios and create things you can explain.

The projects include building an AI role map, creating an output-review record, planning a responsible AI pilot, and developing a 30-day AI learning plan. DiscoveryVIP

There are also searchable questions and answers, recall practice, downloadable workbooks, appendix resources, and locally saved progress. DiscoveryVIP

The bigger lesson is that AI literacy isn’t just knowing how to write prompts.

It means understanding what AI can and cannot do, recognizing where human judgment is still required, questioning results, considering privacy and bias, and taking responsibility for how AI is applied.

3. AI Everyday Studio

Make AI useful for real tasks.

https://www.discoveryvip.com/ai-everyday-studio

The AI Everyday Studio is designed to make AI practical.

It focuses on the kinds of things people are already trying to accomplish with AI: writing, learning, summarizing, planning, improving drafts, and creating repeatable workflows.

The Studio provides 20 guided lessons, eight practice labs, and four practical projects. DiscoveryVIP

You’ll practice turning real tasks into clearer briefs, comparing realistic responses, identifying unsupported claims, choosing useful revisions, estimating the effort involved in a workflow, and creating reusable workflow cards. DiscoveryVIP

The four larger missions take these ideas further: creating a faithful invitation, producing an evidence-based summary, designing an active study session, and building a repeatable everyday AI workflow. DiscoveryVIP

The philosophy behind this guide is simple:

Brief → Try → Check → Improve

Instead of asking AI something and immediately moving on, develop the habit of inspecting what came back.

Was the request clear?

Did the response actually satisfy it?

Which claims need checking?

What should be revised?

Could this become a reusable workflow?

Those questions turn casual AI use into a skill.

Three Studios. Three Different AI Skills.

These three new resources work particularly well together.

AI Everyday Studio teaches you how to make AI more useful.

AI Literacy Studio helps you understand AI and make more responsible decisions about how you use it.

https://www.discoveryvip.com/ai-literacy-studio

AI Output Review Studio teaches you to examine the results rather than simply accepting them.

https://www.discoveryvip.com/ai-review-studio

Together, they create a much stronger AI workflow:

Understand → Ask → Create → Question → Verify → Improve

And that is increasingly what I think practical AI literacy needs to look like.

AI in Practice Means Doing

I’m deliberately designing these resources to be more than articles you read once and forget.

The studios include combinations of lessons, scenarios, interactive exercises, projects, downloadable resources, review tools, and locally saved progress. The newest studios use authored examples and local learning tools rather than requiring a live AI model or AI account. DiscoveryVIP

That means you can experiment with the concepts and develop the underlying skills without needing to connect an API or simply trust another AI-generated response.

And there are many more interactive guides covering AI, prompting, Vibe Coding, Vibe Learning, Google Apps Script, JavaScript, web development, design, debugging, testing, and more.

My goal with AI in Practice is not simply to talk about what AI might do someday.

It’s to explore what we can learn, build, test, verify, and improve with AI today.

Use AI. Question AI. Understand AI. Build better with AI.
